Weekly Fishing Report

Thursday 21st July

Lakes Entrance

The weather has been cold and windy, so for those brave enough, try the town jetties, around the Hwy bridge, the rock wall and up to Kalimna Jetty for luderick, weed being the preferred bait. Surf beaches and Bullock Island (on the incoming tide) for salmon, chasing metal lures. Offshore at Six Mile is still producing a mixed bag. Water temperature is around 14⁰ Celsius.

Lake Tyers

Best spots for bream and flathead are in the upper reaches of the Nowa Nowa Arm and around the timber structures. Water temperature is sitting around 8⁰ Celsius.

Mitchell River

Bream can be found at the Grassy Bank’s, heading up towards Eagle Point Bay, using prawn, cut crab and soft shell.

Tambo River

The Lucerne Paddock, The Blue Hole, The Cliff’s, The Log Hole and Tambo Upper Rd for bream, taking soft shell, cut crab, shrimp, plastics and prawn.

Nicholson

Around the Two Bridges and heading up to The Junction for bream, biting on shrimp, soft shell, prawn, crab and soft plastics.

Metung

The town jetties have small bream, try also the Boardwalk, Chinaman’s Creek and Bancroft Bay, best results with prawn, worm, crab and shrimp.

Paynesville

The Straight is worth a look, as well as Eagle Point Bay, Wattle Point, Point Wilson and the Wetlands, preferred bait’s being soft shell, shrimp and prawn.

Holland’s Landing

McLennan Strait, The Wood Pile, Holland’s Landing, Jones’ Bay and Tom’s Creek for bream using prawn, shrimp and soft shell.

Marlo

On the incoming tide and surf beaches for salmon and tailor, taking lures. Give The Junction where the Brodribb and Snowy Rivers meet a go as well. Pinkies are offshore, if you can get out?

Bemm River

Salmon are in the channel, bream can be found in the lake on local prawn, and soft plastics.

Tamboon Inlet

Surf for salmon, pinky snapper and tailor, biting on blue bait. The lake for bream, best results with crab and shrimp.

Mallacoota

Plenty of bream and flathead in the top and bottom lake, using hard bodies and soft plastics. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor, on the usual baits.

Omeo High Country

Closed for the Season.
