East Gippsland Fishing ReportMay 2025Lakes Entrance - The Footbridge and Bullock Island are producing good numbers of whiting, trevally, pinkies, and the odd kingfish, best results with pipis, fresh prawn, metal slugs, soft plastic grubs and paddle tails, casting these into the deeper channels. Whiting are around Nyerimilang and Flannigan Island, responding to soft lures paired with a red beard for some flash. Surf beaches: salmon, tailor, and gummy shark are chasing squid strips and blue bait, early mornings are best. Tuna are on the move.
East Gippsland acknowledges the Gunaikurnai, Monero and the Bidawel people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that encompasses East Gippsland Shire. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in East Gippsland, their Elders past and present.
