Prawns are still in the lakes but are declining in numbers. King George Whiting are in Reeves Channel also taking fresh prawn. Offshore for snapper, gummy and mako shark.

East Gippsland Fishing ReportMarch 2025Lakes Entrance - Dusky flathead are plentiful, using swim bait soft plastics and hardbody lures. Bream are biting on small diving bodies and fresh baits. Fraser & Rigby Islands have flathead, and whiting biting on pilchards and local prawn. Kingfish are biting on, local prawns, pippies, and soft lures. Prawns can be found in the shallower sections of the lake system. Offshore are landing; school shark, gummy, snapper and flathead. Eastern Beach and Lake Bunga catching salmon with pilchards and squid.
