East Gippsland acknowledges the Gunaikurnai, Monero and the Bidawel people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that encompasses East Gippsland Shire. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in East Gippsland, their Elders past and present.
Taste
Farm fresh and flawless
With fertile soils, good rainfall and temperate climate, East Gippsland is a food bowl for Australia.
Producing fresh fruit and vegetables all year round, the region showcases high-quality Gippsland lamb and excellent wild-caught seafood, along with quality wines, craft beer, olives and olive oil, chocolate and condiments.
Set out to learn about local food production from the producers and growers. Pack a picnic filled with local goodies for an al fresco lunch, visit a cellar door, or settle into a cafe or restaurant to savour your meal with a glass of wine from one of our award-winning wineries.
The East Gippsland Drink Trail may be down your lane with its vast variety of wineries and breweries to wet your palate. And our local foodies have put together the ultimate Eat.Drink.Guide.
