Lake Tyers Beach
Pack the beach towels, the sunscreens and the fishing rods. Pack the esky and pack that book you have been meaning to read, because at Lake Tyers Beach, you will have time to live that lazy beach day dream.
After your day of surfing the region’s most popular break, Red Bluff, imagine sitting back to take in the view of the lake over the ocean with a cold one from the deck of the local pub.
Lake Tyers and the Ninety Mile Beach live side by side most of the time, but occasionally become one when the sand dunes break through. The lake is very popular amongst fishing fans with great catches of flathead and bream often recorded from the depths.
Traditional owners of this land, the Gunaikurnai, have deep roots of history in this area and still live by the productive lake.
