Weekly Fishing Report

Thursday 12th May

Lakes Entrance

Cunninghame Arm, heading towards the bridge at Eastern Beach car park for snapper, trevally and tailor. King George are still about. Offshore at Six Mile Reef, snapper around the 50cm mark are being landed as well as leather jacket, morwong and nanigi. Water temp is sitting at around 16 degrees.

Lake Tyers

Bream and flathead are travelling up towards the Nowa Nowa area, best results on prawn and soft plastics.

Mitchell River

The two bridges are best for bream, also try the back water, Eagle Point and the river mouth, using vibes, prawn and mussels.

Tambo River

Punt House Point is good for bream, preferred baits being pipis, worm and cut crab. Give the Three Gums and The Snags a go as well.

Nicholson

From Pear Tree, the Swimming Hole and all the way to the river mouth for bream, on prawn and soft plastics.

Metung

There is some King George whiting around the Metung and Nungurner areas. Give Rigby Channel a try as well.

Paynesville

The 2 Jetties and The Strait for bream. There is tailor around Bunga Arm and the back lake on lures. Lake Wellington is starting to slowly clear.

Holland’s Landing

Try Lake Wellington, Bull Bay, into Plover Point and The Strait for bream, biting on prawn, soft plastics and crab.

Marlo

50 cm bream can be found taking prawn, crab and worm. Luderick are also about. Salmon and tailor can be found at the entrance and the surf beaches as well. Offshore for flathead and gummy shark.

Bemm River

Bream are in the lake, best results with prawn. Salmon and tailor are cruising around the channel, taking lures and pilchards.

Tamboon Inlet

The river mouth for bream, using prawn, salmon and tailor are taking lures and pilchards.

Mallacoota

The 2 lakes for bream, and flathead. With good weather forecast for this coming weekend go out and catch a swordfish.

Omeo High Country

Fish are plentiful in all the rivers; therefore, best baits being plastics, earthworm, spinners and wobblers, (metal lures).
