Don’t Miss the Special Screening of How To Thrive

On Thursday, 23rd November Sun Cinema will host a special screening of the documentary film, How To Thrive: a practical guide to happiness, followed by an intimate Q&A with the films’ Director and Producer, Duy Huynh and Andrew Kelly.

This award-winning film follows the journey of seven people experiencing struggle and adversity, who learn the science of happiness and wellbeing and how to apply it in their own lives.

Inspired by his own connection to adversity and struggle, particularly as a first-generation refugee, filmmaker Duy Huynh explains “I’ve always been curious to find a way through the darkness; to find the key that unlocks good mental health. And maybe there is a secret formula to happiness? If there is, maybe we should all get some of it. How to Thrive is a culmination of a lifetime of searching for these answers.”

The film aims to inspire hope, transformation, and positive change in the mental health system, through breaking down stigmas associated with mental illness and normalising it through real life stories.

“We are thrilled to have Duy and Andrew joining us in person for a Q&A after the screening, to talk about the impact goals of the film, and how as a community, we can take action and support one another to thrive.” said Kim Kleinitz, small business owner and member of Metung Business & Tourism Association.

“The mental health system crisis is well understood, with demand for services being greater than capacity. This uplifting film teaches us how we can all learn to lead happier lives, using tools and interventions that are proven to help people flourish.” said Kim.

Metung Business & Tourism Association is proud to offer our local community the chance to view this internationally acclaimed thought-provoking film and be part of the Q&A with the filmmakers. This has made possible through the support of Business Victoria’s Mental Wellbeing in the Business Community Program (Round 2).

Tickets for the How To Thrive Q&A screening are available via Try Booking, or can be purchased prior to the 6.30 pm screening on the night, at Sun Cinema.
