Lakes Entrance
There are some King Fish and whiting about, best spots are Kalimna Jetty and up to Nungurner Jetty. Surf beaches are best for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. Offshore at the Pipeline for snapper, flathead, gummies and some striped marlin.
Lake Tyers
The main lake is fishing well for bream and flathead up around the 93cm mark. Try Mill Point, Fisherman’s Landing, the main car park and No.2 Jetty. Garfish are about too. Fish are taking all baits and water temp is around 24°
Mitchell River
For bream and whiting give The Cut, along Rivermouth Road, around the river mouth, Eagle Point and Eagle Point Bay a go using pipis, worm, soft shell, prawn and plastics.
Tambo River
From the Powerlines to Bennetts Brook, Howletts Flat, Three Gums and down to The Snags, preferred baits being prawns, plastics and worm.
Nicholson
The Two Bridges heading down to the Swimming Hole and into Jones Bay for bream using local prawn and plastics for best results.
Metung
Hit the town jetties for bream. For whiting give Chinamans Creek, Box’s Creek and Nungurner Jetty a go with worm and prawn.
Paynesville
Bream are active around the town jetties and around the back of Raymond Island, on local prawn and plastics. Give Newland’s Arm, Carstairs Bank and Bunga Arm a go.
Holland's Landing
Lake Wellington, Seacombe Landing, the Woodpile and into Medusa Point are best for bream and flathead, chasing prawn, cut pilchards and soft plastics. Blonde Bay and Storm Point are worth a look too.
Marlo
In the lake for luderick, bream, mullet and perch, also try around the islands using local prawn and worm. Incoming tide has salmon and tailor using metal lures. Surf beaches are producing tailor and salmon.
Bemm River
Surf beaches for salmon and tailor with best results on metal lures, pilchards, bream and flathead are in the lake taking soft plastics and local prawn.
Tamboon Inlet
In the river, Pelican Point, Peters Rock and Tamboon South for bream biting on local prawn and shrimp. Salmon and tailor are active over the surf beach chasing pilchards and poppers.
Mallacoota
For bream, flathead and the odd garfish try the Top and Bottom Lakes, the Junction, Bull Ring, Harrison Channel and Captains Point using sand worm. Offshore for a mixed bag.
Omeo High Country
Trout are active in all the rivers, chasing dry flies, spinners and grasshoppers.
