Lakes Entrance
There is still King George whiting around the island, Hopetown Channel and the barrier on the usual baits. Town jetties are producing plenty of mullet, bream and pink snapper. All surf beaches are landing good salmon and trevally. Salmon can be found around Bullock Island chasing lures. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for snapper, trevally and salmon.
Lake Tyers
There are plenty of bream and flathead at the Water Wheel Tavern, around the Channel Markers, Mill Point and the top end of Nowa Nowa, mostly around the 42cm mark.
Mitchell River
Bream can be found at the two bridges around the 30 - 38cm mark, best results using pipis and mussels. Also, try the back waters and the football ground. The river mouth is also worth a try.
Tambo River
Best spots for bream at the moment are down close to Marshall Flats, The Snags, Swan Bay and Butcher Creek. The best baits are soft plastics and prawn.
Nicholson
Bream are active in the front boat ramp down to the swimming hole also try the river mouth with soft plastics and prawn for best results.
Metung
There’s still whiting about on pipis and mussels, try Chinamans Creek and Box’s Creek.
Paynesville
The town jetties are the best spots for bream with prawn and soft plastics as preferred bait. Try the surf beach for salmon on pilchard and poppers.
Holland’s Landing
Tom’s Creek, Blonde Bay and down to Storm Point for bream and the odd whiting are cruising about taking pipis.
Marlo
Head to the rock groynes for luderick. Bream are about with frozen prawn as preferred bait. Surf beach for salmon and tailor taking lures, pilchards and poppers. Offshore for gummies and flathead.
Bemm River
The entrance is open, and bream are in the lake biting on prawn. Salmon and tailor are in the channel taking soft plastics and metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet
The river for bream on prawn and cut crab. Peters Rock for salmon and tailor using pilchards and lures. Western Bay for bream on prawn and cut crab.
Mallacoota
Best spot for bream and flathead is in the bottom lake on soft plastics and prawn. Surf for salmon and tailor, offshore for kingfish, flathead and gummies and the odd swordfish.
Omeo High Country
Try the Livingstone Creek, Gibbo and the Mitta Mitta River for trout on soft plastics, worm and lures.
