Lakes Entrance
Try the footbridge for some whiting taking mussels, worm and pipis. Surf beaches for salmon. Eastern Beach for snapper and trevally. Bullock Island and Kalimna Jetty also have salmon taking lures. Offshore water temperature is slowly rising producing good snapper around the 7kg mark and gummy shark are also active.
Lake Tyers
Mill Point around banks and weed up for bream around the 40cm mark. The main lake, Powerlines and the banks for flathead taking prawn, plastics and soft shell. Water temperature is around 15°c to 17°c. Surf beach for snapper and bronze whalers.
Mitchell River
There is a lot of fresh water entering the river. Best spot for bream is at the Two Bells with best baits being prawn, spider crab and soft shell.
Tambo River
Best spots for bream are around the Three Gums and Marshalls Flat and heading down to the river mouth and The Snags. Try Salt Creek as well. Best results are on soft shell, cut crab and worm.
Nicholson
From the highway bridge and the railway bridge for bream on soft shell with best results using spider crab, soft shell prawn and worm.
Metung
The boardwalk, Chinaman’s and Box’s Creek for bream on soft shell, cut crab and prawn. The town jetties have juvenile bream.
Paynesville
Try town jetties for bream taking soft shell, cut crab and prawn. Head to Ocean Grange surf beach for snapper and gummies on usual baits and try metal lures for salmon and tailor.
Holland’s Landing
Seacombe Landing, Woodpile and Holland’s Landing and into Bull Bay have been producing bream and flathead. Try the Loch Sport town jetties and rock groynes for bream, mullet and tailor on usual baits.
Marlo
With heavy rains the rivers are in full flood but the surf beaches are producing salmon up around the 60cm mark on metal lures for best results.
Bemm River
Bream are in the lake taking local prawn and soft plastics. Around and in the channel for salmon with best results on metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet
In the river for bream with best baits being local prawn and cut crab. Eagons Bank for flathead taking lures. Tailor are to be found at Peters Rocks.
Mallacoota
Top and bottom lake for bream and flathead with best bait being soft shell, prawn and soft plastics. Good luderick are active around town jetties but also try Harrisons Channel.
