Lakes Entrance 

The odd garfish are around Kalimna Jetty and the North Arm, try Bullock Island for whiting, pinkies, kingfish and trevally. Offshore at Six Mile Reef & The Pipeline for pinkies or closer to the beach for a mixed bag. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor.

Lake Tyers

For bream try the main lake, around the islands, up around Nowa Nowa and into the Devil’s Hole. The shallow banks are best for flathead. Surf beach for salmon.

Mitchell River

Bass can be found on the usual baits, garfish are active behind the Post Office, heading down towards the river mouth and into Eagle Point Bay.

Tambo River

Some bream can be found around the river mouth with sandworm. Salt Creek and into Swan Bay is also worth a look.

Nicholson

Bream, tailor and the odd perch are around The Cliff’s, Car Bodies, the river mouth and into Jones’s Bay, preferred bait being soft shell prawn, drifting prawn and soft plastics.

Metung

The hotel jetty has bream, Shaving Point for flathead biting on soft plastics, prawn and drifting prawn.

Paynesville

Kingfish, tailor and bream can be found around The Strait’s and town jetties.

Holland's Landing

Secombe’s Landing for whiting. Bream, flathead and mullet are at Holland’s Landing, the town jetties, Pelican Point and into Bull Bay.

Marlo

Marlo is again fishing well landing bream, salmon, and tailor, try the shallows for flathead. Surf beaches are also having good results, offshore for a mixed bag.

Bemm River

Bream and flathead are in the lake. Surf beaches are landing nice sized salmon and tailor using pilchards and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet

Pelican Point and Eagan’s Bank has flathead, Tamboon South for trevally on blue bait and pilchards. Surf beaches for salmon taking lures and baits.

Mallacoota

Top and bottom lakes have tailor, mulloway, bream and flathead.

Omeo High Country

The high country is still producing good sized trout in all the rivers, chasing metal wobblers and spinners, floating earthworm. Give fly patents a try as well.
