Lakes Entrance
Estuary perch are about. Flathead are cruising shallow banks taking lures and soft plastics. Eastern Beach is producing trevally, salmon and tailor on usual baits. Salmon and tailor are active around Bullock Island and heading up towards Metung. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for a mixed bag and gummies are in closer towards the beach.
Lake Tyers
Water temperature is up to 14°. Bream are around the islands taking sandworm and plastics. Bream are at the Fisherman’s Landing jetty taking worm and plastics. Perch are still around the upper reaches and timber structures and getting caught up the Nowa Nowa Arm, taking worm and plastics.
Mitchell River
Bream are active from Grassy Banks and up to the highway bridge with best results on soft shell, cut crab and prawn.
Tambo River
Bream are active at The Snags and Salt Creek. Marshalls Flat is worth a look too. Best bait are soft shell crab and prawn but give plastics and metal lures a go too.
Nicholson
Best spot for bream are from the river mouth and up to the Strait Six. Try cut crab, soft shell, plastics and worm.
Metung
From the river mouth to Clues Bluff and powerlines and all the way up to the cliffs. Best results on soft plastics, soft shell, cut crab, prawn and worm.
Paynesville
Fish are active around the ferry docks. Try soft shell, cut crab and worm Soft plastics and lures are worth a shot too.
Holland's Landing
Hollands Landing, Woodpile and Seacombe Landing have been producing good bream. Try Bull Point, Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay and head to Steel Bay and down to Wattle Point.
Marlo
The Brodribb River for bream, the odd luderick is about on usual baits. Give the Three Islands a try on incoming tide for salmon and tailor on usual baits. The surf beach is producing salmon and tailor on usual baits with offshore producing a mixed bag.
Bemm River
The entrance is still open and there is good bream about taking worm. Head to the beach for salmon and tailor on usual baits.
Tamboon Inlet
The Camp Site and Mud Point heading up to Duck Splash and Furnell Landing for bream, luderick, estuary perch using shrimp. Try the river mouth and shallows for flathead on lures, soft plastics and prawn.
Mallacoota
Bream are active up in the top lake and flathead are about the Narrows. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on usual baits and head offshore for a mixed bag.
Omeo High Country
Trout season reopens - Saturday 2nd September 2023.
