Lakes Entrance
There are still some luderick along the rock wall and Kalimna Jetty area. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor chasing silver lures. There are also some flathead about the shallow banks offshore.
Lake Tyers
Good bream around the 40cm mark are in the main lake and up to the islands. Best results on worm and plastics. Up near Nowa Nowa perch are to be found around the timber structures and banks.
Mitchell River
Best spots for bream are from the bluff, grassy banks and all the way up to the highway bridge with best results using soft shell, cut crab and prawn.
Tambo River
From Johnsonville boat ramp and heading down to Marshalls Flats, Three Gums and downstream to The Snags. Give Tambo Light and Swan Bay a go with best results using soft shell, cut crab, prawn, plastics and worm.
Nicholson
Best spot for bream is from the Two Bridges and heading upstream to the Strait Six. Best results are on cut crab, soft shell, plastics and worm.
Metung
There are flathead along the boardwalk taking prawn and soft plastics. Give Chinamans Creek and Box’s Creek a look as well.
Paynesville
Town jetties are best for bream, mullet and tailor chasing silver metal lures. Try Ocean Grange for salmon and tailor taking pilchards and poppers and metal lures.
Holland's Landing
Best spot for bream being McLennan Strait, The Woodpile and Holland’s Landing. Take a look at Jones Bay and Tom’s Creek too.
Marlo
There is mullet in the Snowy and some luderick out and about the three islands. Salmon and tailor on incoming tide and surf beaches for salmon and tailor on usual baits.
Bemm River
The Entrance is still open. Bream are actually taking worm. Salmon are chasing metal lures in the channel and check out the surf beach for salmon and tailor on usual baits.
Tamboon Inlet
Pelican Point and Eagan’s Bank have mullet, bream, luderick, tailor, garfish and flathead in the shallows. Surf beach for salmon and tailor on usual baits.
Mallacoota
Surf beaches still have salmon and tailor taking metal lures. The Top Lake is still producing bream with best results on prawn, soft shell, cut crab and give plastics a whirl too
Omeo High Country
Trout season reopens - Saturday 2nd September 2023.
