Lakes Entrance
Perch are near the rock wall, at the footbridge, Bream and flathead off the footbridge, and floating jetty, Reeves Channel for whiting. Luderick are active along the rock wall and up to the Kalimna Jetty. Offshore, six to eight miles out for snapper, taking lures while gummy sharks can be found closer to the beach. The Pipeline may also be a good place to try.
Lake Tyers
Lake Tyers has been producing good fishing, bream around the 30cm mark and up to 41cm while flatheads up around 90cm, are taking plastics and bait, near the banks. The entrance is still open.
Mitchell River
From Grassy Banks, The Cut and down to the Two Bells for bream, taking spider crab, prawns and soft shell. Picnic Point for bass, taking deep diving lures.
Tambo River
The Lucerne Paddock, The Blue Hole, The Cliffs, Power lines and heading to Clues Bluff and Marshalls Flat for bream. Best results with crab cut, soft shell and prawn..
Nicholson
Between the two bridges, the Car Bodies, Strait Six and The Poplars for bream and some flathead on drifting baits, prawn and soft shell. Also, worth looking at the Swimming hole as well.
Metung
Whiting and some flathead are around Nungurner Jetty as well as the islands. Try along Reeves Channel and around Flannigan Island for bream, flathead and luderick.
Paynesville
Whiting are active at Carstairs Bank and Bunga Arm. Also try the drop-offs and channels for flathead and bream.
Holland's Landing
A 42cm trout was caught at Loch Sport. Gummies and flathead can be found along the surf beach. Also try the Straits and into Jones’s Bay.
Marlo
Bream are active in the system whilst the channel and surf beaches have salmon and tailor. Offshore is producing good fishing, Marlo reef for a mixed bag.
Bemm River
Bream are in lake, biting on soft plastics and prawn. Salmon can be found in the channel, taking metal lures and prawn.
Tamboon Inlet
Trevally are at the football ground taking pilchards. While there is salmon in the lake, chasing lures. Bream are in the river, using prawn and shrimp. Flathead are active at Pelican Point biting on pilchards.
Mallacoota
Try the Narrows for bream. Flathead are active in the top lake. Captains Point for luderick and give the junction a try. Off the town wharfs for a mixed bag.
Omeo High Country
All the rivers and tributaries are landing good sized trout, with the best results coming from metal lures, spinners, drifting earthworm and fly patient.
