Alfred National Park
This culturally and spiritually significant place for the region's original first nations inhabitants, the Bidawal People, includes a rare temperate rainforest eco system. The 3,050 hectare park has many uncommon and rare species of flora and fauna including the violet nightshade, jointed mistletoe, prickly tree fern and slender tree fern.
Although recreation is limited for visitors to this National Park, you can see lyrebirds darting in the early morning and a tuning echo of birds calling. Other species calling this area home include the spot-tailed quoll, common bentwing bat and owl species powerful and sooty.
