Mushers from across Australia travel each winter with their teams to compete around the stunning Dinner Plain Village and through the beautiful snow gums in the annual Dinner Plain Sled Dog Sprint.

This is a free event for all spectators. For the best views, take a walk (approximately 800m) from the Dinner Plain Village entrance, towards Omeo, along the Guide Alice Trail that runs beside the Great Alpine Road.

Unfortunately due to limited snow conditions, the dog teams will not be able to be seen at the toboggan and base of the ski run.

So come and join the fun. Expect lots of dog noise with hundreds of very excited sled dogs. Feel free to take photos and videos. Stick around after the racing has finished and have a chat so some of the mushers, and be prepared to give some belly rubs and get some Husky cuddles in return!

The organisers ask that you do not bring your own dog/s to the event. The sled dogs are working breeds and other dogs will distract them from competing.
