A trifecta of treasures
From vessel clad canals and waterfront stays, affluent marinas and watersports aplenty, Paynesville shows off its aqua attraction in true form. Take a swim at Sunset Cove, paddle the maze of canals or sail around Raymond Island.
Roam along the cafe rich esplanade stopping to sample each of the top notch cafes and restaurants and browse the boutiques. The Paynesville Farmers and Makers Market scatters the foreshore the third Saturday morning of each month for your selection of local produce and handmade beauties.
Board the iconic ferry to Raymond Island. This island brings a true island lifestyle. Quiet, relaxed and carefree at it’s best, you will slow down and enjoy the serenity without even noticing. The ferry is free for pedestrians and bike riders, and a small fee to bring your car. No doubt the main attraction, The Koala Trail is a very easy walk / ride from the ferry terminal.
Located between Lake Victoria and Lake King, the lakeside vibe continues around the corner to Eagle Point. Here you will find sheltered swimming areas, and the incredible Mitchell River Silt Jetties - the longest silt jetties in the world. Enjoy walking and fishing, and don’t leave without snapping an Instagram worthy pic from the Bluff Lookout.
This area is simply stunning no matter what time of the year you wish to visit. So come for the boating, or perhaps the fishing, come for the cuisine or the coffee but stay for the magic.
